LIVINGSTONE ANNOUNCES 2008 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE April 9, 2008 – Salisbury, NC –Livingstone College has released its 2008 football schedule. The line up features the Blue Bears competing against the Hornets of Concordia College (Selma, AL) in Greenville, SC for the Greenville HBCU Classic. They will then travel to “Tiger Country” to take on Division-I Savannah State (Savannah, GA). The gridiron battle will continue with the Blue Bears hosting the Indians of Catawba College (Salisbury, NC), followed by their CIAA opener against Bowie State University, also played at Alumni Memorial Stadium.
Other home games feature Saint Augustine's College on October 18 for Homecoming, and Shaw University on October 25. Season tickets are also available at $75 per person, which will also include a ticket to the Greenville HBCU Classic and a “Blue Bear Bag” that will include promotional items valued at more than $25.00 along with a parking pass to all home contests.

LIVINGSTONE HONORS 115 YEARS OF BLACK COLLEGE FOOTBALL: JC SMITH EXTENDS VICTORY MARGIN WITH 47-7 WIN
Salisbury, NC – A storied history of football between Johnson C. Smith (formerly known as Biddle) and Livingstone adds another record in the books. In Salisbury, NC, where it all began, The Golden Bulls (3-7, 2-5 CIAA) remained atop of the bottom cellar with a 47-7 romping over the Blue Bears who finished out the 2007 season with a 0-10 overall and 0-7 CIAA record. During halftime with a JCSU 44-7 lead, Livingstone honored its 2007 Class of Hall of Fame Inductees and a proclamation was read in commemoration of 115 years of Black College Football. The majority of the excitement displayed on the field came after the game from the two institutions drum lines. more | stats

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Vikings picked up their fourth consecutive win with a 55-8 walloping of the Livingstone College Blue Bears in front of a Homecoming crowd Saturday afternoon at Roebuck Stadium.
With only 10 seconds left, the Blue Bears (0-8, CIAA 0-5) narrowly avoided being shut out for the first time this season when Curtis Edens connected with Donte Daye for a nine-yard touchdown. Rashaad Flucker then found the end zone on a successful two-point conversion pass for the final 55-8 point spread. more | stats

(BOWIE, MARYLAND) Isaac Redman rushed for a school record 218 yards powering Bowie State University to 44-6 victory over Livingstone College. The old record (213 yards) was set last season by former Bulldog Nathaniel Queen. Bowie State is now even at 3-3 and 3-0 in the CIAA. Livingstone remains winless at 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the CIAA. more | stats

Livingstone Scores Season High 20 in Homecoming Loss to Fayetteville State
Salisbury, NC – Livingstone alum gathered today for the celebration of its annual homecoming activities and remembrance of the 1997 CIAA Championship Team. The championship Blue Bears finished the ’97 season winning all ten games but forfeited the first two games for an 8-2 record. After today’s match-up against another 0-4 team, Fayetteville State, Livingstone scored a season high 20 points in the 58-20 homecoming loss. The Broncos led at the half 42-14. more | stats

Lucky Number Seven Unfavorable for Blue Bears: Virginia State defeats Livingstone 30-7
Salem, VA – Virginia State University (2-2 overall, 1-0 CIAA) unloaded 16 unanswered points in the first quarter of the Eight Annual Western Virginia Education Classic held in Salem, VA. The Trojans extended its lead to 30 by halftime; but faced a different Blue Bears team in the second half. Livingstone (0-4, 0-1 CIAA) scored early after intermission with a 15-yard hurl from Sophomore Steven Williams (Decatur, GA) to Freshman Donte Daye (Burlington, NC). VSU’s Nick Fleming (Chester, VA) was named Offensive MVP with a total of 135 net rushing. LC’s Lionel Vincent (Las Vegas, NV) received the Defensive MVP for having 12 total tackles and a fumble recovery for 15 yards. more | stats

Salisbury, NC – The Blue Bears of Livingstone College scored first in its home opener to Virginia Union University (3-0) but fizzled out to a 45-7 defeat. The Panthers scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to hold a 28-7 lead at the half. Union’s Quarterback Lamar Little rushed nine times for 146 yards and completed nine of 21 pass-attempts for 152 yards. The Blue Bears’ Lionel Vincent finished with a game high 12 tackles. more | stats
September 8, 2007 Catawba Celebrates 100 years with 46-7 defeat over Livingstone
Salisbury, NC – 100 years of Catawba football was honored tonight in Shuford Stadium with a 46-7 victory over Livingstone. For the Indians’ season opener, Catawba (2-0) won the coin toss and scored on every drive except for the last two in the first half to add a tremendous 33-0 strain over first year coach Lamonte Massie and the young Blue Bears. Livingstone (0-2) responded in the third quarter with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Steven Williams to Donte Daye and capped an eight-play drive for 77 yards. Catawba finished the game 46-7 to celebrate a century of football. more | stats
September 1, 2007 Benedict Shines in Palmetto Capital City Classic
Columbia, SC – Benedict College (1-1) celebrated the Sixth Annual Palmetto Capital Classic with a 43-6 victory over Livingstone College (0-1). The Tigers hit the scoreboard first after forcing the Blue Bears backwards into the endzone for a safety. Benedict controlled the first half with a 16-0 lead and increased it to 30-0 by the third quarter. Livingstone scored with 7:14 remaining in the 3rd quarter off of a 36-yard pass from Steven Williams to AnThon Harris. The two-point conversion attempt failed. more | stats

Salisbury , NC – Livingstone College will offer season tickets for the upcoming 2007 football season. The Athletic Department will sell the four-game home slate for $75.00. The season ticket package will include a general admission ticket to the game, a parking ticket, and access to the VIP Tent during Homecoming. The buyer will also receive a souvenir package. Regular game-day prices are as follows: Admission - $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for students and senior citizens. Homecoming admission will be $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for students.
