Thursday, November 15, 2007 Livingstone Devastate Season Opener with 104-81 Victory Over Morris College
Salisbury, NC – Livingstone College (1-0 overall) opened the 2007-08 season with a 104-81 thrashing over Morris College. Six Blue Bears scored in double figures tonight while the team shot 51.5 percent from the floor. Senior point guard Michael Duncan (Cleveland, OH) led the game with 20 points while Senior Mario Satterthwaite (Greenville, NC) and Tayloe Taylor (Junior, Memphis, TN) both finished with a double-double. Satterthwaite totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor had ten points and 11 assists. Livingstone led at the half 49-30.
Junior guard Emilijano Kinaj (Bronx, NY) also scored 17 points while sophomore Calvin Gunning followed closely in points with 14. Travis Young rounded out the double-figure scores with 12 points. The Blue Bears shot 52.3% from the charity stripe and 48.1 from the arc. LC out-rebounded Morris 52-40.
Morris College (0-3 overall) had four players to score in double-figures. Justin Beaufort and Nathaniel Thomas scored 18 points each. Christopher Owens had 13 while Stanford Adams finished with ten.
Livingstone College will play host to Belmont Abbey in William Trent Gymnasium on Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 pm.
